These
are proving a very enjoyable way to spend a convivial Sunday in good
company

We
are the All Weather Walking Group and walk every Thursday,
starting at 10:00 There is a choice 'twixt Amblers & Ramblers,
the latter offering a longer [6+miles] packed lunch walk on the 3rd
Thursday of the month, Also on the
1st Thursday of each month there is a choice of a Walk in the
Mournes The emphasis is on enjoyment, good craic &
convivial company.
In accordance with U3A Personal Accident Insurance policy, participants
on walks should take responsibility for their own care, safety and equipment.
They should follow the advice of the walk leader to minimise any risks
to themselves and others in the group.
We
usually meet at a central point so that we can car-share.
NB It has been generally agreed that for car-sharing on longer journeys,
passengers will offer the driver £5 to help offset fuel costs.

is now a choice from three different walks, one of which should suit

NOTICE TO AMBLERS
Veronica Browne has kindly agreed to become the new
Convener for the Amblers Group as from February 2012. We wish her well
in her new role and thank her predecessor, Margaret Mathews, ably assisted
by Anna and Mina, for their contributions over the past three years.
Throughout January 2012 the Amblers will meet each Thursday (except
26th Jan.) at 10 a.m. at Shaw’s Bridge to decide which route to
walk that day.
